Knowledge of Jihad identifiers allows law enforcement to connect the dots before major terrorist attacks -- and solve cold cases. These identifiers provide unique insights into the recruitment and indoctrination that led to the Boston bombings and other attacks against America. If you see one, contact your department head or homeland security officer.
Jabhat al-Nusra: Participation in capture of regime base in Deraa Province
by Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi • Jan 26, 2015 at 11:37 am
Syrian rebels recently claimed another advance against Assad regime forces in the southernmost province of Deraa with the capture of the Liwa 82 base to the north of the town of Sheikh Maskeen. Among those participants was Syria's al-Qa'ida affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, which has released a video of its operations in the area. This evidence points to an ongoing general picture of coordination between Deraa rebels (including the Western-backed 'Southern Front' and 'mainstream' Islamist and Salafi brands such as Jabhat Ansar al-Islam and Harakat al-Muthanna al-Islamiya) and Jabhat al-Nusra, despite emergence of tensions here and there (e.g. when Nusra attacked the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade as an alleged Islamic State affiliate).
