Knowledge of Jihad identifiers allows law enforcement to connect the dots before major terrorist attacks -- and solve cold cases. These identifiers provide unique insights into the recruitment and indoctrination that led to the Boston bombings and other attacks against America. Harakat al-Nujaba Leader Arrives in Syria
by Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi • Jul 7, 2015 at 1:38 pm
Reflecting the ongoing and important involvement of Iraqi Shi'a militias in Syria despite the withdrawal of large numbers of them to focus on the home front, the leader of Harakat al-Nujaba- Akram al-Ka'abi- has paid a visit to his group's contingent in Syria. The official website reports:
"The secretary general for the Islamic Resistance Harakat al-Nujaba- Sheikh Akram al-Ka'abi- arrives in Syria to inspect the Harakat al-Nujaba fighters in the areas of Nahar al-Asi and Talal al-Jabb in preparation for military operations against the terrorist forces in Jisr al-Shughur [in Idlib province]."
It should be noted that this report fits in with a wider trend of increasing Iraqi Shi'a militia involvement in Syria's northwest regions to the west of Aleppo city where Harakat al-Nujaba has also been fighting. For comparison, the militia has also deployed to Assad's home province of Latakia, and another Iraqi Shi'a militia, Liwa Dhu al-Fiqar, has also fought in Latakia province this year and more recently played a role in freeing Syrian army soldiers from Jisr al-Shughur National Hospital.
