Junud al-Mahdi ('Soldiers of the Mahdi') is a Syrian Shi'i militia based in Nubl and Zahara', two Syrian Shi'i villages to the north of Aleppo city that were besieged by rebels beginning in 2012, with the siege finally broken in early February 2016. Like Fawj al-Imam al-Hujja, it is also affiliated with Hezbollah, but its origins date back earlier and it has participated on a variety of fronts in the Aleppo fighting.
