Kata'ib al-Qiyam al-Husseini ('The Hussein Undertaking Battalions') is a Shi'a militia that identifies itself as part of the Muqawama Islamiya ('Islamic Resistance') and is ideologically aligned with Iran, featuring portraits of Ayatollah Khomeini and Iran's current Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in its social media and banners etc. It is the 'military wing' of the 'Islamic Resistance Movement in Iraq' and is led by one Muhammad Khafaji. Its main claimed area of activity is Diyala province.
