Kata'ib Assad Allah in Iraq (Lion of God Battalions in Iraq) is a Shi'a militia led by one Aamer al-Asadi (Abu Turab). Ideologically, the militia identifies with Iran. Abu Turab has visited a variety of fronts including the Tikrit area, Samarra and the Ayn al-Assad base in western Anbar. In February 2015, the militia threatened to attack U.S. troops for entering Iraq again as an alleged occupation force.
