Tanẓim Ansar al-Tawheed fi Bilad al-Hind
Designated terrorist in accord with being part of the Islamic State. Base of operations: India, Afghanistan/Pakistan, Syria/Iraq
Tanẓim Ansar al-Tawheed fi Bilad al-Hind (Organization of the Supporters of Tawheed in India) is an Indian jihadi group that emerged in May 2014 as one appealing for help from both al-Qa'ida and the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham. In October 2014, the group pledged allegiance to the Islamic State.
Though there was no creation of an 'India province' as part of the group's pledge of allegiance, it subsequently emerged in an Islamic State video from Homs province (May 2016) entitled 'India between Pain and Hope' that members of the group had migrated to the Khorasan area (Afghanistan/Pakistan) and following the pledge of allegiance, at least some migrated to Iraq and Syria supposedly as part of the obligation to migrate from the land of kufr [implicitly referring to predominantly Hindu India] to the land of Islam.
Besides this development, the group also distributed Islamic State propaganda in Indian languages.
