Harakat al-Shaheed al-Awal ("The First Martyr Movement") is a Shi'a militia operating in Iraq. The 'First Martyr' refers to Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr who was murdered by Saddam's regime in 1980. The group appears to be participating in the Iraqi government's March 2014 offensive to retake Tikrit from the Islamic State.
