Based on the brand of Shi'a jihad in Syria known as Liwa Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, this "Iraq Formation" was first announced in March 2014 and claimed Sadrist Sheikh Qasim al-Ta'ie as its spiritual leader. It was however eventually disowned by the original Liwa Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas.
