Kata'ib al-Ghadab is an Iraqi Shi'a militia formed in June 2014 as part of the wider Shi'a mobilization to push back against the Islamic State-spearheaded Sunni insurgent gains. The group is affiliated with a second-degree pro-Iranian break-off from the original Islamic Da'wah Party: Tanẓim al-Dakhil, led by Abd al-Karim al-Anizi. The group has claimed operations in a variety of areas, such as Amiriya al-Fallujah, north Baghdad and Diyala province.
