Not yet designated terrorist by a Western country Base of operations: Iraq Background: Aymenn al-Tamimi
The Mujahideen of Iraq Brigade (Liwa Mujahideen/Mujahidee al-Iraq) is a Shi'a militia operating in Iraq. It is the military wing of the 'Harakat Nasrallah al-Islamiya' ('Islamic Nasrallah Movement'), which according to adviser Hussein al-Maliki was established at the beginning of 2014 to 'defend the holy sites and people of Iraq: Sunni and Shi'a'. This group, led by one 'Nasrallah al-Sarkhi', calls itself after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, because, according to Hussein al-Maliki, he is 'leader of the resistance [al-muqawama: common Shi'a militia moniker] in the world'. It was supposedly established by ex-Jaysh al-Mehdi guys. The group also claims an 'Azrael Battalions/Brigade' special division [named after the angel Azrael] that has been fighting in the Makishifa area of northern Samarra, near the two holy Shi'a Imam Askari shrines. The Mujahideen of Iraq Brigade has also claimed operations in the Ramadi area.
