Liwa Youm al-Qa'im ('The Brigade of the Day of the One Who Arises', with al-Qa'im a reference to the Messiah/Mehdi in Shi'a discourse) is a Shi'a militia that was led by one 'Abu Dhir al-Hassani', whose death was announced by the group on 20 September 2014. The main claimed area of operation thus far has been Duwaylibah to the west of Baghdad (Abu Ghraib district). Ideologically, the militia identifies as a Hezbollah brand and professes affinity with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
