Kata'ib Rayat al-Huda
Not yet designated terrorist by a Western country Base of operations: Iraq
Kata'ib Rayat al-Huda is a Shi'a militia operating in Iraq. Originally defining itself as part of the "Harakat Mujahidee al-Ahwar" (The Marshes Mujahideen Movement, referring to the Marsh Arab areas of southern Iraq and thus pointing to the group's primary location), the group announced in March 2015 that it was joining a Hezbollah brand group by the name of "Hezbollah al-Akhyar in Iraq: the Islamic Resistance in Iraq." As this suggests, Kata'ib Rayat al-Huda identifies ideologically with Iran. Apart from this information, little is known about the group's size, areas of military operations or relations with other Shi'a militias.
In November 2014, the group extended condolences to Iranian proxy in Iraq Harakat al-Nujaba for the loss of one of its fighters, suggesting links between the two.
